Most of us don’t know what we are putting ourselves through by ignoring this one little thing.

Effective extreme cold weather clothing that helps absorb enough sunlight even in the winters of America seemed to be the right solution for it all and it materialized soon enough all due to the efforts and innovation of SolTech+.

We all know that cold seasons do limit our ability to get natural sun exposure and thus directly impacts our body’s ability to produce natural Vitamin D. If we take the example of New York City, the winter here is almost depressing even when the sun is out. We can’t stand outside in the cold soaking its rays in because it is just too cold and windy. We’re covered in layers and walking to work like bundled mummies for the most part, sipping hot coffee and barely looking up from the memos we got for the day. Clearly we don’t really care about the sun or the fact that the lack of it or its rays is making us prone to a disease that is going to impact our life in a negative manner. Little do we know that these effects are not just limited to our body but also extend to our brain and it functions.

Vitamin D & Your Brain

We’ve come to know a lot about the various health benefits of Vitamin D over a period of time. While it’s true that Vitamin D is extremely important for us as it helps us keep our bones strong and healthy, its role in our mental health is also undeniably essential.

Despite all that knowledge that we have stumbled upon, there is still a lot of us who suffer from Vitamin D deficiency. Do you know that this has been linked with increased risk of brain-related disorders? Parkinson’s disease, autism, multiple sclerosis and dementia are some of the most common brain related problems one is likely to face if they suffer from this deficiency. According to newer studies, low levels of Vitamin D have been correlated to increased risk of dementia. These issues can go to a far greater degree than anyone had anticipated.

The study was a result of a collaboration of several highly respected institutions from around the globe. They had evaluated a group of 1,658 elderly candidates with no symptoms of dementia, and their Vitamin D levels were taken for record keeping and assessment purposes.

5 ½ years was the average follow-up and out of this group 171 participants developed dementia. Out of this number, 102 reported extreme cases of Alzheimer’s disease as well. The data was then evaluated, and what the experts found was enough to be called as evidence that low Vitamin D level leads to risk of developing dementia and other brain related diseases in the human body.
