Essential Tips for Best Cold Weather Clothing

When you have so many options in your wardrobe, it is difficult to choose the best cold weather clothing. But, below are a few tips that are going to help you. The basic of choosing the best cold weather clothing is not based on what is available in the market, it is based on what you need, the activity you are about to do and the weather outside.

The Occasion/Activity

Whether you are going for trekking, hiking or just taking a walk around the corner, your level of physical activity decides the clothes you need. Bulky jackets, heavy lowers are not recommended for running. You can pick up vitamin D sunlight clothes for casual running. You can try out layered clothing while running or trekking so as to not to lose the flexibility while running. Layered clothing traps more heat in between the layers keeping the wearer warm.

If you are hitting the gym, avoid multiple layers. Keep a single layer of quick dry clothing. Dry clothes keep you warm for a longer time. The human body loses heat 35% more quickly in wet clothes than in dry clothes. Quick dry clothes also let you exercise comfortably for a longer time. If you are working out or doing mild exercises in the open, wear vitamin d sunlight clothes.

When you are out in the sun, respect the sun. Cover your head, neck, hands with hat, neck warmer, and gloves respectively.

For feet, wear woolen socks as they are great insulators even when wet. The stuff of the woolen socks is heavy, make sure your shoes fit your feet perfectly after wearing socks made of heavy material.

Coming back to the layered clothing, which is good for any occasion.

Base Layer

Wickable, lightweight base layer will be safe for your skin as your skin will be in the direct contact with the base layer. If your body will have minimum or no activity at all, you can choose a heavyweight layer. The stuff of base layer must be designed to take the moisture away and it must be breathable. Such clothes don't let you lose your flexibility.

Mid Layer

Mid-layer is the insulation layer that traps the heat. This is worn between the base layer and the outer jacket, hence the mid-layer. This layer can include a down sweater, a fleece vest, or an insulation jacket. Mid layer must have buttons or a zipper so that you can take it off easily in case you feel the need to get rid of one layer.

Outer Layer

This layer is in the direct contact with the weather so you can try out waterproof and windproof stuff or something that sheds snow easily.

Ventilation

During the activities that require high energy, moisture gets build up inside the outer layer. Pants and jackets don't insulate well when they are wet. In these cases, you need core vents on your mid-layer so that it dries out quickly.

There's a different kind of clothing that is popular - vitamin d sunlight clothes. These are translucent clothes that can be worn directly on the skin. Women can wear these over their sports bras. It keeps you warm and being translucent, it helps you get your daily dose of Vitamin D. The translucent layer between the sun and your skin protects you from UV rays as well. Try vitamin d sunlight clothes, you will love them.
